Curry Creative
She/Her
Ruth Curry is a 23 year old artist from White Rock Nova Scotia. Having previously studied at Mount Allison University and obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she developed her fine art style, which consists of loss and cultural identity. Curry Creative on the other hand is Ruth’s passion project; which began on her first year off from university. Curry Creative is Ruth’s positive art making space. A lively area to let go and create colourful local landscapes of the beautiful Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, where characters of hers come to life and where lovely stories of yours inspire beautiful commissioned work.
Ruth’s art making strives from the beauty of the world around her and the conversations of the people she meets. Working with a mixture of watercolour painting and the use of watercolour markers she depicts the environment in front of her or imaginative spaces and people she concocts in her mind. The playful illustrations are bold in colour and the use of line is a strong signature of hers, made from the use of white gel/paint pens and black micron pens.
Ruth is an artist who wants to inspire others through her work and to one day be a graphic designer or illustrator working for herself or with a positive motivating team striving to make change in her community.
